PRESENT STATUS : Up-gradation and Improvement

The comments on the draft bid documents were communicated to the World Bank .
- The consultants have submitted the draft DPR for Kurnool-Devanakonda road, Chittoor-Puttur road, Kandi-Shadnagar road and Mydukuru-Jammalamadugu road. The same are being reviewed by the RBD.
- EOIs for Construction Supervision Consultancy Services were received and the same are being processed.
Widening of Roads to Four laning under Public Private Partnership:
A total 8 Roads, which are earlier developed under externally aided projects and 1 MDR are identified for up-gradation to four lane as desired by Hon’ble Chief Minister of AP based on preliminary feasibility conducted by both the World Bank consultant and M/s CRISIL Consultancy.
- Length of roads is 1258 Kms.
- Scope of work is four laning of existing 10.0mts wide carriageway with central median.
- Funding pattern is 20% maximum of Government of India support and balance of Viability Gap of another 20% by the World Bank other than the Private Investment (60%).
- M/s Feed back Ventures Pvt, Ltd., New Delhi are entrusted with Consultancy Services for Techno Economic Feasibility Study and Transaction Advisory Services for procurement of concessionaries.
- Consultant has commenced traffic studies & road investigation surveys on the project roads.
- Consultants also submitted the Technical Feasibility Report for 3 roads and procurement process for these three roads is under process.
Long Term Performance Based Maintenance Contracts:

Contract concluded with M/s SMEC International, Australia for Consultancy Services on 3.5.2007.

Out of 6500 Kms. it is phased out to tackle 2295 Kms. in Ist Phase. Balance 4205 Kms. are proposed in 2 nd and 3 rd Phase.
- The standard bid documents for the Phase I roads are finalized and sent to the World Bank for clearance.
ROAD MANAGEMENT SYSTEM:
It is proposed to establish Road Management System for optimum utilization of funds and prioritization of the Road Improvement and Maintenance Works.
ROAD FINANCING STUDY

Contract awarded to M/s Price Water House Coopers Ltd. and agreement signed on 12 th September 2007.

Consultant have mobilized their teams by 17 th September2007.

Consultants have submitted the Inception report duly incorporating the comments of RBD. The same is communicated to the World Bank.

Consultants have submitted the Draft Assessment Report which is under scrutiny.
The Road Safety Policy and Action Plan : The RFP is preparation.
The Road User Satisfaction Survey: The TOR is submitted to World Bank for their review and comments.
INSTITUTIONAL STRENGTHENING:

The Centre for Good Governance has furnished the draft TOR for a period of 2 years from December 2007 and initial engagement will be crystallized for a period of 6 months to act as Facilitator/ Advisor to APRDC on ISAP.

The World Bank has sent their comments on the draft TOR of CGG and the CGG is preparing the revised draft TOR duly observing the World Bank comments.

AP Road Development Corporation officials visited Karnataka, Tamilnadu and Rajasthan States along with officials Center for Good Governance to study the Organizational structure, skill sets and the partition followed in various State Road organizations.
